Kyushu Electric Power has decided to postpone until at least the end of June a call to households and industry to cut back on power usage. The utility has moved to procure fuel for thermal power generation to replace the power from the currently idled Genkai-cho nuclear power plant. They will decide then whether to call for power savings based on their fuel procurement and prospects for the resumption of the Genkai-cho plant’s operations.
