Kyushu Electric Power held its general stockholders’ meeting in a Fukuoka City hotel, and the four-hour duration of the meeting was the longest ever for the utility. Management answered questions about the possibility of eliminating nuclear power generation and the bogus e-mail scandal involving the restart of operations at their Genkai-cho plant. Stockholders submitted eight proposals to the meeting, including one related to the elimination of nuclear power, but all eight were voted down.
