Kyushu Electric Power signed a safety agreement with Nagasaki Prefecture and the cities of Matsuura, Sasebo, Hirado, and Ikki in the event of an accident or a disaster at the utility’s Genkai-cho nuclear power plants. The agreement provides for notification by Kyushu Electric in the event accidents or other dangerous conditions occur. It is the utility’s second agreement of this type with prefectures other than those where the plants are located, the first being Fukuoka Prefecture.
