The Kyushu Regional Strategy Council, a body composed of Kyushu Governor’s Association members, the Kyushu Economic Federation and other local business groups, has released a logo to be used to promote the wider region of Kyushu, Yamaguchi and Okinawa. Based on the concept of “One Kyushu,” the logo features the character for shu made out of a combination of the characters for kyu and ichi (one) with the word “Kyushu” in English underneath. Using a noren (shop curtain) motif, the logo is meant evoke the spirit of welcoming visitors. The base color is red, but blue and green versions will also be used to promote Kyushu-made marine and timber products. The logo will be used to promote the greater Kyushu region far and wide in a unified effort. Source: fiba.jp
