Exports from the Kyushu economic region reached a September record of 1.1395 trillion yen, up 4.9% from a year earlier. Moji Customs said semiconductor manufacturing equipment was a major driver of the increase. Equipment exports rose 90.2% to 102.2 billion yen, supported by demand from South Korea and China for AI-related chip production. Vehicle exports fell 7% to 269.1 billion yen, declining for a second consecutive month as shipments to China and Europe weakened. The region recorded a 147.3 billion yen trade surplus, its 20th consecutive monthly surplus. Source: TVQ News / Nishinippon Shimbun
