The Kyushu Ryukoku Junior College of Tosu, Saga Prefecture, became the first junior college in Kyushu to offer a course in video and broadcasting 10 months ago. The 12 students in the first course have been combining classroom work with training in cable TV and FM radio stations. The course was established to train people to work in the rapidly diversifying media industry. The students in the course hail from six Kyushu prefectures, with Kumamoto Prefecture being the only one with no representation.
