On Jan.17, Toyota Motor Kyushu unveiled a one-of-a-kind Lexus decked out with local Kyushu handicrafts. The car, a Lexus CT200h hybrid vehicle, was a joint project between Toyota and seven prefectures of Kyushu and will be showcased at the upcoming Fukuoka Motor Show. It features seats made from Hakata-ori textiles and other interior items fashioned by master craftsmen from Arita-yaki pottery (Saga), Nagasaki bekko (tortoiseshell), Higo zogan metal inlay (Kumamoto), Beppu bamboo ware (Oita), Obisugi cedar (Miyazaki) and Satsuma Suzuki tinware (Kagoshima).
