Kyushu Trade Surplus Continues, U.S. Auto Exports Fall

Moji Customs reported a ¥239.5 billion trade surplus for the Kyushu economic zone in October, marking nine consecutive months in the black. Total exports fell 0.5% year-on-year to ¥1.1017 trillion as automobile and semiconductor equipment shipments declined. Auto exports dropped 8.3% to ¥298.7 billion, with U.S.-bound shipments down 20.7% amid ongoing additional tariffs introduced in April. Imports decreased 0.7% to ¥862.2 billion due to weaker demand for electronic components. Officials said trade levels remain sensitive to global economic trends. Source: Moji Customs
