Kyushu University Completes Relocation to Ito Campus

Kyushu University has completed the relocation of its facilities to Ito Campus which began in 2005. Measuring 3 km east-to-west and 2.5 km north-to-south, the 272-ha Ito campus is one of the largest single-university campuses in Japan. On Sept. 29, the university held a ceremony to commemorate the total relocation, and over 1,000 officials and stakeholders were in attendance. Chancellor Chiharu Kubo expressed his gratitude to everyone who cooperated with and supported the campus relocation and announced the Ito Campus Declaration, a statement of the university’s vision for the future from its now-completed base of operations. “I want to make the campus a place where our students, faculty and staff can engage in peer learning and competition with people from around the world. We will open the door to new university innovation as we continue to make strides into the future,” stated Kubo. Source: fiba.jp
