Kyushu University professor Chihaya Adachi has been named a 2026 Clarivate Citation Laureate for his research on organic light-emitting diodes. He is among 22 researchers from institutions in seven countries selected through analysis of research-paper citations. The award recognizes materials he developed that sharply improve light-emission efficiency in displays and lighting. The materials avoid expensive rare metals and are being developed for commercial use because of their potential for longer lifespans and lower costs.
