Kyushu University Partners on Transport Solutions

Kyushu University announced a partnership with Itoshima City, Showa Bus, and the Toyota Mobility Foundation to address regional transportation challenges in western Fukuoka. The agreement, unveiled on March 23, aims to improve mobility in the Itoshima Peninsula, where increased tourism has led to congestion and concerns about the sustainability of public transport. The initiative will incorporate the university’s hydrogen energy research to introduce clean mobility solutions, including environmentally friendly vehicles. Plans also include optimizing routes to better serve both residents and visitors. The partners aim to enhance convenience while promoting sustainable transport systems across the region.
