The Times Higher Education (THE) announced the Japan University Ranking 2019 in which Kyushu University ranked 4th, moving up from the fifth position in 2018. THE conducted the third edition of this ranking with the cooperation of Benesse Group, a major educational service company in Japan with the purpose of promoting innovation and globalization in university education. Unlike the conventional domestic rankings of universities which compares the level of entrance exams, the THE ranking focuses on the quality of the education and how students can learn through their campus life. The top 150 are listed based on four pillars: resources, engagement, outcomes and international environment. Source: Times Higher Education
