Kyushu University announced on November 7 that starting next school year, it would open a school of automotive science at the graduate school level for automotive industry research. It will admit 21 candidates for a master’s degree and seven candidates for a doctor’s degree. With the increasing concentration of the automotive industry in northern Kyushu, the university hopes to educate specialists with expertise in business management and environmental issues, in addition to such technical fields as materials and fuel.
