The Kyushu Regional Agricultural Administration Office released its White Paper for 2008, reporting on regional agriculture and trends in agricultural villages. The report focuses on creating a network based on food and agriculture that links to local governments, corporations, and educational institutions to promote the development of new products as well as the growth of the local communities to overcome the current harsh economic climate. It emphasizes encouraging the greater use of locally produced products to deal with such problems as the skyrocketing international price of corn and wheat and concerns over the false labeling of imported products.
