Softbank Robotics brings the first food-service robot in Kyushu to a yakiniku BBQ restaurant in Fukuoka. The robot, ‘Servi’ started its pre-operation at Nurubon Garden Shingu shop on Dec. 17. The machine carries food and drinks to guest tables like a waiter while self-detecting obstacles such as humans with a sensor. Softbank explains that a unit can save the labor costs equivalent to 1.5 persons. The machine will officially debut in January 2021, and sixteen more units will be introduced at nine Nurubon restaurants. Source: SoftBank Robotics
