The Japan Meteorological Agency announced the rainy season (tsuyu) began yesterday morning (6/2) in Kyushu: six days later than last year, but three days earlier than average. Generally, rainy season ends around 7/19 in Northern Kyushu and 7/14 in the South. As for the intensity of this year’s tsuyu, predictions indicate slightly less rain than usual during June, and slightly harder rains than usual for July.
