Moji customs released its figures for exports in 2010 from the Kyushu economic area, which includes Kyushu and Yamaguchi and Okinawa prefectures. The aggregate exports totaled 7.1274 trillion yen, a 28.1% increase from the previous year. This represents a major recovery after the economic crisis of two years ago, and is the largest yearly increase since statistics started being kept in 1979. Automobile exports alone soared 57.2%.
