In a recent survey conducted by Nishinippon Shimbun, 45% of responding companies said they they feel the economy will not start recovering until 2017. In last year’s survey about half of the respondents said they expected the economy to bounce back in 2016, so sentiment about the business climate remains uncertain. When asked what is needed to kickstart the economy, 51.7% said lower corporate taxes, and 44.3% said lower income and residence taxes.
