Fukuoka has been selected to host the 2026 annual meeting of the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS). This marks the second time Japan will host the conference, the first being 12 years ago. The event is expected to attract approximately 4,000 participants, with around 2,500 coming from overseas, making it the largest international conference in Fukuoka since the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference will take place from August 2 to August 7, 2026, at the Fukuoka International Congress Center and Marine Messe Fukuoka B Hall. Researchers from around 50 countries will gather to discuss a wide range of topics including earth sciences, climate change, natural disasters, and environmental issues.
