Makoto Kagoshima’s Ceramic Art Showcased in Fukuoka

An exhibition featuring the unique ceramic works of Fukuoka-born artist Makoto Kagoshima has commenced at the Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art. Kagoshima, known for incorporating floral and animal motifs into her designs, has gained international popularity. The exhibit, which is her first major showcase, displays over 300 items including tableware and interior decor. Highlighted pieces include plates decorated with vivid yellow flowers and serene lions surrounded by colorful blooms. The exhibition, which opened to the press on April 23, will run until June 23. Curator Yumiko Nakajima encourages visitors to imagine integrating Kagoshima’s thoughtful designs into their own lives for a playful and engaging experience.
