Police arrested a 61-year-old unemployed man on January 8 on suspicion of insulting a female librarian at a public library facility in Fukuoka City. The incident occurred in September last year at a library inside a gender equality center in the city’s Minami Ward. According to police, the man shouted repeated abusive remarks at a librarian in her 50s while she was handling counter services. The dispute reportedly began after the man left the counter and became angry when another user was assisted ahead of him. The woman later resigned from her position following the incident. Police began investigating after she consulted them in November. The suspect has denied the allegations. Source: KBC News
