A 28-year-old company executive was arrested for cultivating marijuana plants for profit in the mountains of Kurume City. The number of marijuana plants numbered 568, the largest number so far uncovered by the Fukuoka Prefectural Police. The suspect has denied the charges. He is suspected of violating the Marijuana Control Law by possessing 1,200 grams of dried marijuana in a warehouse last month for commercial purposes. As for the marijuana cultivation charge, investigators received a report of “something that looked like marijuana grass growing in the mountains,” and when they went to check the area, Koseki was cutting marijuana leaves. According to the police, the suspect denied the charge, stating that he was not the one who was cultivating the marijuana, but was only shearing the leaves and grabbing the branches. Source: KBC
