Marukyo and Amazon Japan Launch Online Grocery Service in Fukuoka

Marukyo, a Fukuoka-based supermarket chain, has partnered with Amazon Japan to launch an online grocery delivery service. Starting September 25, customers in Fukuoka City and surrounding areas can order from Marukyo’s selection of about 7,000 products via Amazon.co.jp. This marks Amazon’s first foray into fresh food delivery in Kyushu.

Residents within the delivery area who log into their Amazon accounts will see a “Marukyo” tab on the site, allowing them to purchase vegetables, meats, seafood, and prepared foods. The service offers flexible delivery options, with two-hour time slots available from noon to 8 PM on the same day or the next day after purchase.

Marukyo operates 83 stores across northern Kyushu, including Fukuoka and Nagasaki prefectures, and is a subsidiary of Retail Partners. The company plans to expand the range of products and delivery areas over time. Source: Amazon Online Supermarket
