Marutai Co., Ltd., a Fukuoka-based noodle maker, announced plans to build a new factory in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture. The company will invest ¥4.3 billion to construct a 7,300 m² factory, capable of producing 200,000 portions of noodles per day. The company announced increased net sales (+28.4%, ¥2.52 billion) for its business term between Apr. ~ Jun. 2020. Marutai analyzes that the increased opportunity to cook and eat at home under the impact of the new coronavirus spread had pushed up the noodle consumption internationally. Sources: Asahi / Marutai
