Matsuda Sangyo to Build New Plant in Kitakyushu

Matsuda Sangyo, a recycler of precious metals, will build a new plant in Kitakyushu City, its first in Kyushu. Construction will begin in fiscal 2023 on a roughly 60,000 m2 site in the northern part of the city, and operations are scheduled to begin in fiscal 2024. The company will hire around 30 people when the new plant goes online. The new plant will collect precious metal scrap, including gold, silver and rare earth metals, from semiconductor and electronic component manufacturers, and use a chemical treatment to extract the resources.
