Matsuura City to Exchange Tax Credits for Used Musical Instruments

Matsuura City in Nagasaki Prefecture began accepting musical instruments for its hometown taxation, starting on October 1. The city has used the nation’s “furusato nozei” system to collect instruments for use inside its municipal schools. Donors must apply online before sending the instruments to designated appraisers. While there are no gifts for these donors, they will receive tax deductions according to the value of the items. It is the first city in Kyushu to introduce such a system.
