The first MoMA Design Store in Kyushu will open April 3 on the second floor of the One Fukuoka Building in Tenjin. Operated by Loft, the store will offer more than 800 design items selected and approved by curators at New York’s Museum of Modern Art, with some products also included in the museum’s design collection. The 109-square-meter shop aims to attract both local shoppers and international visitors, particularly tourists from across Asia. The Fukuoka location will feature an interior designed by a Japanese designer using domestic materials and a contemporary interpretation of Japanese spatial aesthetics. To mark the opening, the store will sell 300 limited-edition cookie jars created in collaboration with the Fukuoka confectionery workshop Azur. Source: FNN / TNC News
