More Local Companies Plan to Hire Fresh Grads Next Spring
According to the results of a survey conducted by the Fukuoka Employers’ Association, 20.1% (+8.3% year-on-year) of employers plan to hire more fresh graduates in FY2014, while 14.9% (+1.5 year-on-year) plan to hire fewer grads. This is the first time since the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 that the percentage of employers planning to increase hiring has exceeded those planning to curtail it. The Association’s analysis points to “increased expectations for the future despite a difficult business climate”. The survey was sent to 374 Association member companies in May and June, and 138 of them replied. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun, July 17
