More People Move into Fukuoka Prefecture Than Out

According to statistics released by Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the number of people moving into Fukuoka Prefecture in 2018 exceeded the number moving out by 2,889. Within the prefecture, Fukuoka City had the largest net increase of 6,138 people, which ranked the 7th nationwide. Cities of Itoshima and Fukutsu also had over 1,000 more arrivals than departures, with the age group of 14 y.o. and under making up a significant part. Meanwhile, 1,674 more people moved out from Kitakyushu City than moved in, which was the second worst in the whole country. Source: Statistics Japan, 1/31/2019
