The Fukuoka branch of Tokyo Shokoh Research released its statistics for bankruptcies with liabilities exceeding 10 million yen in Kyushu and Okinawa Prefecture in October. There was a 38.3% year-on-year rise in the number of companies declaring bankruptcy, to 101 cases. It was the first time there were more than 100 bankruptcies in almost three years. The aggregate amount of liabilities for these companies soared 2.3 times to 23.374 billion yen, the first increase in two months. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun
