Nagasaki City’s Anzen Taxi has put two electric vehicles into service as taxicabs, and claims they are the first company in the industry in Kyushu to do so. The automobiles used are Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV, which can travel for 160 kilometers on one charge. They also have a rapid charge function, in which the battery can be recharged to 80% capacity in 30 minutes.
