Seiho High School of Saza-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, defeated Hanamakihigashi High School of Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture, 1-0 to win the 81st national invitational high school boy’s baseball championship. This was the second time Seiho reached the tournament finals, but the first time they won. It was also the first time a team from Nagasaki Prefecture had won either the spring or the summer tournament.
