Nepali Parents Seek Justice After Daughter’s Killing

The parents of 25-year-old Nepali vocational student Laxmi Rajbanshi spoke from Nepal one week after her body was found in the Naka River in central Fukuoka. Her mother said she was still struggling to accept her daughter’s death, while her father described Rajbanshi as someone who supported the family. She came to Japan three years ago, attended vocational school, worked several part-time jobs, and sent money home. Police investigating the case found signs of a struggle and blood inside her apartment, while her smartphone remains missing. Her father expressed confidence in the Japanese police investigation and called for the person responsible for his daughter’s death to be identified and brought to justice.
