New Car Share Scheme for Ferry Passengers in Kitakyushu

On Jan. 24, Tokyo-based company Times 24 launched a new shared-use vehicle service at Shinmojiko Ferry Terminal in Kitakyushu. The company has a nationwide network of “Times Car Plus” car share locations, however the new Kitakyushu service is their first ferry terminal location in Japan. Car sharing is a model of car rental where people rent cars for short periods of time. Times 24 made two vehicles available for car share at Shinmojiko Ferry Terminal: one Nissan Note and one Mazda Demio. The service allows ferry passengers to drive away immediately after arriving at the port – a convenience that the company predicts will benefit both sightseeing and business passengers.
