New Escalator Connects Subway and JR Hakata Station Chikushi Exit

A new escalator connecting JR Hakata Station Chikushiguchi Exit and the basement area began operation on Sep. 28. Formerly, subway passengers had to carry their luggage to and climb up eighteen stairs to go to the shinkansen exit of the station. The project cost approximately ¥330 million.
