New Hakata Food Hall Brings Fukuoka Flavors to Airport

The Hakata Food Hall, opening March 28, 2025, on the third floor of Fukuoka Airport’s international terminal, will feature eight specialty eateries, providing travelers with a curated sampling of Fukuoka’s renowned culinary offerings. Among the highlights are Kamakiri Udon, known for its homemade noodles made from Itoshima-grown wheat; Takenoya, offering eel dishes and its famous “guruguru” grilled chicken skin skewers; and Umino Shokudo, serving seafood rice bowls made with fresh fish from Nagahama Market. Additional options include authentic tonkatsu at Ando, bubble-style tonkotsu ramen at Ko-chan Ramen, and hearty motsunabe (offal hot pot) from Rakutenchi. The food hall, designed to evoke the bustling atmosphere of a traditional yatai street, aims to immerse visitors in Fukuoka’s vibrant food culture. The interior blends modern amenities with nostalgic charm, creating a lively yet comfortable dining space. In addition to the Hakata Food Hall, the pre-security area will feature Royal Cafeteria Miyabi, a multi-cuisine dining option for travelers and their families. Source: Fukuoka Airport
