New Ohajiki at Hakozaki Shrine

Hakozakigu Shrine announced that the hugely popular Hojoya Ohajiki will be replaced later this month. A new line of the ceramic game counters called Hakozakigu Ohajiki will go on sale from March 21. The pieces will be created by a group of Hakata doll makers called Hakuchokai. Customers who collect numbered tickets from Hakozaki Shrine on the night of March 20 will be able to purchase ohajiki from March 21 to 31. The ohajiki are sold in sets of 20 and displayed in either paulownia wood cases (¥3,000/case, only 2000 available) or special frames (¥12,000/frame, only 200 available). The next set of ohajiki will be available for purchase in June. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 3/13/2018
