Details about the 2018 Fukuoka Marathon have been released, and this year’s race will take place on November 11. The Executive Committee announced that the new selection process will set aside 555 places specifically for runners who applied but missed out on a spot from 2015 to 2017. The route of the full marathon will take the selected 12,000 participants starting from Tenjin, past Kyushu University’s Ito Campus and Futamigaura, before finishing in Itoshima City. Up to 2,000 children and 20 wheelchair users can take part in a shortened 5.2 km course. Organizers will accept applications from April 16 to May 21. (Executive Committee: 092-711-4676).
