Takashima Soichiro, Mayor of Fukuoka City, announced the name of a new station to open along the Nanakuma subway line between Hakata and Tenjin. The station’s name will be “Kushida Shrine Station.” The mayor made his announcement in front of a decorative float of the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival on the first day of Yamakasa, July 1.
