A joint venture between Nishitetsu and JA Zen-Noh was announced at a press conference. Their new brand of tomato, Tomappe, will go on sale from the end of this month. The two companies developed the tomato in Kiyama Town in 2017 by applying information and communication technology to realize both increased sweetness and stable harvest. The brand name was selected from ideas from junior high school students in Kiyama. Approximately 16 tons are expected to be sold by the end of FY. Source: Nishitetsu News Release, 11/20/2018
