On June 21, Nick Szasz, CEO/Publisher of Fukuoka Now, was appointed “Kyushu Transport and Tourism Creator” by Tohru Kawaharabata, Director-General, Kyushu District Transport Bureau. As such, he is asked to share information about Kyushu tourism while enhancing Kyushu’s brand via social media and video and advising on how to make Kyushu’s tourism resources more attractive. As the publisher of Fukuoka Now, Nick has produced and shared information about Fukuoka and Kyushu in English and other languages since 1998 in print, web, and social media. In January 2020, he launched Kyushu Live on YouTube to “explore and connect Kyushu” to fans of Kyushu worldwide through live-streamed virtual tours around Kyushu. The popular Now Map, a printed map, will resume circulation later this year as overseas tourists return.
