Nishi-Nippon Railroad to Introduce Touch Payment at All Stations by 2024

Nishi-Nippon Railroad plans to implement touch payment systems, compatible with credit cards, at all 73 stations across its rail lines, including the Tenjin Omuta Line and Kaizuka Line, by the end of fiscal year 2024. This initiative, aimed at improving convenience for both local passengers and international visitors, follows a successful trial that started in July 2022 at seven stations including Nishi-Nippon Fukuoka (Tenjin) and Dazaifu stations. The system will support various card brands such as Visa, JCB, American Express, and UnionPay, with plans to include MasterCard in the future. Source: Nishi-Nippon Railroad
