Nishi-Nippon Railroad Trials AI Security System at 8 Stations

Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu) has begun testing an AI-powered security system at eight stations along the Tenjin Omuta Line, including Tofuro-mae Station. Developed by Tokyo-based Asilla, the system analyzes CCTV footage to detect intrusions, falls, and suspicious behavior, aiming to improve safety while reducing staffing needs.

The six-month trial runs until August and follows similar implementations in Fukuoka City’s subway and JR Hakata City. Source: Nishitetsu
