Nishitetsu plans to expand contactless credit card payments to approximately 1,300 route buses in the Fukuoka metropolitan area by around fiscal 2028. The payment option is already available at all Nishitetsu railway stations but only on some bus routes. The company aims to simplify transfers and make travel easier for people without transit IC cards, including international visitors. A smartphone app allowing users to top up nimoca cards will launch on Nov. 16. Nishitetsu also plans to add commuter pass purchases through the app during fiscal 2027. Source: RKB News / TNC News
