On May 19, Nishinippon Railroad Co. held a briefing in Tokyo on its Amaou Premium Sparkling Wine—its first foray into developing products from local agricultural goods. Nishitetsu began selling the amaou strawberry wine in Fukuoka last year as part of a new agriculture business aimed at invigorating communities along its train and bus lines. It started with a batch of 500 bottles made from non-standard strawberries and will bump production to 2,500 bottle due to popular demand.
