Nishitetsu Hikes ¥100 Bus Fare to ¥150 and Closes Kashikaen Theme Park

Nishitetsu announced the discontinuation of its ¥100 bus services between Tenjin and Hakata. The inexpensive bus service for the urban routes improved mobility for many within Fukuoka’s central areas since 1999, along with the 100 Yen Area Free Pass. However, the company decided to introduce a new fare system pegged at ¥150 from July 1 to recover from the new coronavirus-induced financial losses. The company also announced its Kashii Kaen Sylvania Garden theme park’s closure as of Dec. 31, 2021, due to financial difficulties. Source: Mainichi / Sankei
