The Nishitetsu Group announced a new service in which Nishitetsu staff will use a tablet device (ARROWS Tab F-05E) when assisting foreigners at selected train stations in Fukuoka. The service is set to be launched at three locations on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line (Tenjin, Yanagawa and Dazaifu) on Sunday Sep. 1. Nishitetsu staff will use the tablets to give clear and comprehensible explanations to foreigners – with easy access to photos & graphics, maps, a translator for ten languages, a writing board and local event information on the tablet. It’s also anticipated to be helpful for passengers with hearing trouble – as communication can be made through text. Nishinippon Shimbun 27th Aug.
