The Nishi-Nippon Railway Co. (Nishitetsu) announced that starting July 1, five of the routes on which it operates late-night expressway buses will stop at Canal City, mid-way between the Tenjin district and Hakata Station. The Canal City complex is popular with tourists as well as shoppers, and the company hopes to increase bus use by allowing people to shop at the facility until the last minute. The buses affected run from the Nishitetsu Tenjin Bus Center to such destinations as Nagoya, Osaka, Kyoto, Okayama, Takamatsu, and Kagoshima.
