Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu) acquired the building and land that lies adjacent to the former Daimyo Elementary School, a site that is set to undergo large-scale redevelopment in the near future. Nishitetsu already reached an agreement with the current owners, apparel giant Onward Kashiyama (Tokyo). The property will be handed over on August 28. Nishitetsu made the acquisition, which will cost them ¥6,150 million, given the site’s close proximity to Meiji Dori and Fukuoka’s downtown area. The company is now considering how to best develop and utilize the land. Source: Yomiuri Shimbun, 8/22/2017
