Nishitetsu Railway Does Not Plan to Enforce Mask-Wearing on Trains and Buses

The President of Nishitetsu Railway, stated in a press conference on February 16th that the company does not plan to actively encourage the wearing or removal of masks on its trains and buses, despite the Japanese government’s decision to leave the decision up to individuals starting from March. He also expressed concerns about potential conflicts arising from the differing interpretations of the government’s policy on mask-wearing during times of congestion. However, the company will consider guidelines from industry associations regarding announcements and signage about mask-wearing on board. Source: NHK
